Jacob Walter joined Hillwood in September 2007. His primary responsibilities include pursuing and executing development and acquisition opportunities for the Hillwood Urban division.
Walter most recently managed the development efforts for the new 180,000 square foot build-to-suit campus for The Perot Family business interests and Hillwood's Dallas offices, and continues to pursue various potential build-to-suit and speculative opportunities across the metroplex. He also served as the project manager for the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, where Hillwood served as third-party development manager. The 170,000 square foot, $190 million project was completed on budget, ahead of schedule and has become an iconic piece of the Downtown Dallas skyline.
Walter has been involved in Class A commercial development and acquisitions for his entire career, and has managed projects containing more than 1.9 million square feet – representing in excess of $775 million in value. Prior to joining Hillwood, he served as Project Manager for Crescent Real Estate Equities. At Crescent, he was responsible for project management, including predevelopment activities of The Ritz-Carlton Dallas Hotel & Residences, Phases I & II. He was also responsible for the underwriting and analysis of various other development and Class A office acquisition opportunities.
Prior to joining Crescent, Walter worked in the Dallas office of Hines, where he was responsible for the underwriting and analysis of various proposed Class A development and office acquisition projects.
